Foreclosure sales
Most Harris County foreclosures are non-judicial trustee sales run by the trustee or substitute trustee named in the deed of trust, not by county staff. Under Texas Property Code 51.002 they are public auctions held on the first Tuesday of the month between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The County Clerk states the monthly auction is held at the Bayou City Event Center, 9401 Knight Road, Houston. Notices of Trustee Sale are filed and posted 21 days before the auction.

  • Houston's Short-Term Rental Ordinance requires hosts of units rented for less than 30 consecutive days to register and give the listing platform a City-issued registration number. Starting January 1, 2027 the City will ask platforms to remove listings without a certificate of registration.
