- The Dallas County Clerk's Recording division records deeds and other real property documents. Official public records can be searched online (non-certified) through the Clerk's Official Public Record Search.
- Foreclosure sales
- Most Dallas County foreclosures are non-judicial trustee sales run by the trustee or substitute trustee named in the deed of trust, not by county staff. Under Texas Property Code 51.002 they are public auctions held on the first Tuesday of the month between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The County Clerk lists the location as the north side of the George Allen Courts Building facing 600 Commerce Street, below the overhang, or as designated by the Commissioners. Notices must be posted 21 days before the sale.

- Dallas runs a tiered Vacant Property Registration Program: registration is voluntary, but becomes required with a fee for vacant properties with two or more unresolved maintenance violations in six months. A new owner must register the property as applicable.
